Sunday, December 14 marked a first for Bells Ablaze. We were invited to play with the TSO in their annual Family Christmas Concert. How exciting! We played after the intermission and entered in procession from the back of Roy Thomson Hall (4 of us down each of 2 aisles). Susan wrote a simple processional which we played while the conductor, John Morris Russell read a poem by Edgar Allen Poe about bells. Many folks in the audience were surprised as suddenly the ringers were right there! Lined up across the front of the stage, we damped our bells to close the processional and then went right into Carol of the Bells, played by the full orchestra. At the end of the concert, we returned to the stage ringing sleigh bells to join all the other performers and the audience in the Grande Finale carol sing. Needless to say, this was very thrilling and we had a blast! And Susan's Auntie Cath greeted everyone backstage afterwards (with roses for Susan)! Thanks to the TSO for looking after us so well and to Maestro Russell for his warm welcome!

Here is a comment from Ruth Falk who attended our concert on Sunday in Guelph.
The concert was magnifantabulistic!! (a combination of several superlatives) Where do I start? All the music was beautiful. Loved the organ with the bells. Loved the amazing solo and quartet ringing. Loved the versatility of each person to play any bells, any place and sometimes four at a time and with mallets here and there too! Just wonderful, all of it, as I knew it would be. Friday, April 27

Enthusiastic audiences raved about our concerts last weekend! We entered Aeolian Hall playing a peal as we walked up onto the stage. Then, we were into our first piece, featuring Adam Guthrie on the violin. It was a wonderful evening. If you missed it, you have the chance to attend our concert in Ingersoll on Sunday April 23, at 3:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church. Call me for tickets. Bring your friends.....they'll love you for it!

I have wanted to have a "full" bell choir ever since I bought my bells in 1997 but for several reasons had to wait a few years to make this dream a reality. Finally in September of 2004, my dream came true! I invited some keen, accomplished ringers to join with me in my new venture. We are now starting our 3rd season. Click on "Future performances" to find out where and when you can hear us perform. We promise you'll enjoy the concert!
